The Review of European Administrative Law (REALaw) is an international peer-reviewed journal, published three times a year, both online and in print. The REALaw is published and edited on behalf of the Department of Constitutional, Administrative Law and Public Administration of the University of Groningen and the Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law and the Europa Institute of Utrecht University.

 

This journal offers a leading forum for original contributions on European and comparative administrative law. The journal publishes scholarship on traditional questions of legal interest in the field of European and administrative law, the impact of EU law on specific national administrative law topics, comparative administrative law, the interaction between EU and national institutions, and fundamental rights.

Invitation

The editors invite papers for this scholarly, peer-reviewed publication of original articles and analysis of current developments in the field.

The REALaw publishes manuscripts (scientific articles), book reviews and case notes. Manuscripts should not be longer than 10,000 words including footnotes. Decisions to publish are based on double-blind review. The Editorial board does not send papers for review that do not fall into the scope of the journal, do not comply with the editorial guides, and have been published or are under review elsewhere.
Prospective authors can discuss their papers with the Editorial Board before submitting their article. Any editorial or submission quieries may be sent to the General Editor (Sofia Ranchordas). Articles should be submitted to realw@rug.nl.

 

The editors welcome expressions of interest from authors and publishers wishing to submit review copies. Publishers are requested to send review copies to the book review editor of Review of European Administrative Law.

Invitation

The editors invite papers for this scholarly, peer-reviewed publication of original articles and analysis of current developments in the field. The journal covers all aspects of European administrative law, reflecting the role of the European Union, in addition to the role of domestic legal orders.

There are two to three scholarly articles of 10-15,000 words, excluding footnotes, per issue. The editors welcome articles from scholars anywhere in the world writing in English about developments in any jurisdiction on any aspect of European administrative law. The editors also welcome shorter articles or analysis from anywhere in the world, including analysis of case law (ECJ or from national courts), and lengthy book review articles dealing with significant new publications.

 

Please follow the guidelines for contributions in the Review of European Administrative Law.

  • Europeanisation of administrative law in the Member States, Summer Course 2017, Leiden University, 26 June - 30 June 2017

    In the last week of June 2017, the Constitutional and Administrative Law Department of Leiden Law School will organise a Summer Course on the Europeanisation of national administrative law in the EU Member States. The course is open to doctoral students and professionals who are eager to learn more about the reception of EU law in the administrative law and practice of its Member States and who would like to share their experience or knowledge on the Europeanisation of their own national administrative law.
